As a woman visiting from Japan, I was both nervous and excited to book to stay in an English “Bed and Breakfast”. But “Pilgrims Barn B&B” gave me an unforgettable time - unique, beautiful, nostalgic - but clean and functional, like a good hotel. I enjoyed the gardens with flowers, trees, a green carpet of lawn, even roses and bird song! The hosts, with everything perfectly organised and prepared, made me feel safe and comfortable immediately when I arrived in this lovely place.
Pilgrims barn is lovely – tasteful, historic, comfortable! Beautiful countryside, options for walking and cycling - and breakfast - make our visits (from The Netherlands) a total treat.
My husband and I always look forward to our stay in this beautiful barn which is set in a glorious tranquil garden. Wonderful hosts who welcome us as old friends to their well presented warm and comfortable property.
Pilgrims Barn is a lovely place to stay. Peaceful comfortable and beautifully appointed. Lots of interesting places to visit near by.
John and Sally were perfect hosts and provided us with a delicious breakfast before we left. We are looking forward to another visit.

After a very busy tour of many UK cities, it was a joy to settle down in the homely Pilgrims Barn. We arrived to find ….. a stunning garden in this idyllic village of Little Baddow. Getting to experience a taste of life in such a setting is the stuff of childhood imaginings …..The lodging is extremely comfortable and has all the comforts of home. Thank you!
What a charming place, steeped in history ….. fantastic hosts. Only wish we were staying longer. Could spend hours upon hours exploring the magnificent Barn ….. so interesting. I will be recommending this place to others as it was so homely and the peace & quiet was superb. Thanks again.
